Mariola in Jake Heggie's "Two Remain (Out of Darkness)" - DEBUT

I get to go home to Iowa again! This time it is for a debut with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra for their performance of composer Jake Heggie’s and librettist Gene Scheer’s deeply moving chamber opera “Two Remain (Out of Darkness).”

The QCSO chamber ensemble will be under the insightful guidance of conductor Ernesto Estigarribia and stage director Shelley Cooper will help us tell the stories of two Holocaust survivors: In Act I, Krystyna Żywulska, assisted by ghosts of Auschwitz, shares her story of survival with a journalist. In Act II Gad Beck is haunted by his first love, the poet Manfred Lewin, who perished in Auschwitz. We have a stellar cast, so get your tickets and please join us!
