A fundraiser for the Library of the Anglican Center in Santiago, Spain

I am so looking forward to supporting the fundraising efforts of poet Richard Blanco and my dear friend, poet Spencer Reece as well as Reverend Jacob Smith and Calvary-St. George in New York City. They are fundraising for a library at the Anglican Center in Santiago, Spain. The Anglican Center is a place where ordained women can celebrate at the altar having just finished their camino. This center and library are extremely important additions to Santiago because the majority of the centers where pilgrims arrive upon finishing the camino are Catholic. As such, ordained women are not recognized or allowed to celebrate at the altar. The Anglican Center and the library within it will give women a place to properly mark the conclusion of their camino.

The library will be named in honor of the first girl's orphanage ever to exist in Honduras, named Our Little Roses (https://www.ourlittleroses.org). Having a library in honor of the girls continues the theme of empowering women in the church.

I will be singing two newly commissioned art songs which set poems by one of the girls from Our Little Roses. Her name is Aylin. These songs setting Aylin’s poetry are by the wonderful composer Laura Jobin-Acosta who also gave of her time to support the fundraiser.

Please come support this important event!
