The Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and the Figge Art Museum co-host this concert in honor of a collection of 90 stringed instruments restored and curated by Violins of Hope, an organization started by father/son duo Amnon and Avshalom Weinstein. Their intent is to preserve instruments associated with World War II and the Holocaust and/or which harken to a time when Jewish populations were thriving in Europe before the war. Some of these instruments were, of course, played in unspeakable conditions. Some of them traveled with their owners out of ghettos and concentration camps to safety in Palestine (now Israel) and elsewhere. All are lovingly stewarded now by Avshi after Amnon’s passing.
The amazing Dimitri Malignan and I are joined by the wonderful violist Deanna Petre for an evening honoring Violins of Hope. We feature music which would have been played in the ghettos and concentration camps—Mozart, Brahms, Puccini, Schumann—music that was suppressed—Mendelssohn, Mandyczewski, Chopin—and music by composers who were persecuted in World War II and the Holocaust—Dick Kattenburg, Vítězslava Kaprálová, Hans Gál, Simon Laks. We are honored to bring this concert to the stage.
Looking forward to bringing “Missing Voices” with pianist Dimitri Malignan to a concert for the St. Petersburg World Affairs Council in Florida. Dimitri and I will present music of composers persecuted in the Holocaust, including works by Dick Kattenburg, Gideon Klein, Henriëtte Bosmans, Pál Hermann, Simon Gokkes, and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, amongst others.

Couldn’t be happier to be bringing “Missing Voices” to Temple Sinai in Sarasota, FL. “Remember me, Remember us” will include music of composers persecuted in the Holocaust, including Pál Hermann, Simon Gokkes, Gideon Klein, Henriëtte Bosmans, and others. It will be wonderful to sing in this gorgeous space again for this beautiful community. More details TBA.
I am super excited about this recital! Alongside the great Renate Rohlfing on piano and the wonderful Ruben Rengel on violin, I’ve curated an afternoon honoring one of my idols: Alma Gluck. It will be a great joy to present repertoire inspired by her recording history with her husband violinist Efrem Zimbalist at The Sembrich on Lake George (Bolton’s Landing). Alma was one of the most famous students of one of opera’s greatest early 20th century divas, Marcella Sembrich. Sembrich built the gorgeous salon space as a summer teaching studio where she could welcome students from New York City, Juilliard, and Curtis. Renate, Ruben, and I will close out The Sembrich’s season with music by Saint Saens, Mozart, Beethoven, Puccini, and others. In the meantime, I hope you’ll give Alma and Efrem a listen on Youtube. It doesn’t get more beautiful than this!
In June 2025, I had the pleasure of singing in a concert performance of this wonderful opera. Now we will be staging the whole show and performing it twice! So much to look forward to! The music is gorgeous, the character is devious, and I’m going to enjoy being with my colleagues again.

For the past two years, I’ve been meeting with dear friends weekly to rehearse music of Monteverdi and Brahms (and some Caccini!). We are ensemble Spirito Vivo. This is our first step onto the concert stage together. Come hear us sing with the fullest of hearts. It is wonderful to be singing with this particular group and sharing this glorious music! Also, we will be joined by the magnificent Luce Burrell on theorbo.

I can’t wait to sing the gorgeous “Pie Jesu” from Fauré’s “Requiem” with new friends and colleagues of The Choral Society of the Hamptons. It will be wonderful to listen to the choir singing Fauré’s incredibly moving score and to hear them offer some beautiful choral music by Franz Liszt.
In our lives we are in a hurry, sometimes moving too fast, and it's good to slow down from time to time. The Choral Society of the Hamptons offers an hour of contemplative music to help calm and reflect during this quiet time of year.

Dimitri Malignan and I present a co-curated recital entitled “Friendship: Connections in New Lands.” Dimitri’s long-term project “Missing Voices” aims to introduce more music of composers related to the Shoah to the concert stage and to present this music alongside other great works from the classical music canon. The program is on the theme of friendship, inspired by a photography exhibition by Israeli artist Oranit Ben Zimra which is on view at the German American Heritage Center in Davenport, Iowa where we will be performing. The exhibition “Mit dir bin ich ich/With you I am myself” presents photographs of pairs of friends in Norderstedt, Germany and in Israel. It is a tribute to how friendship connects and strengthens us, friendship defies borders and nationality. Dimitri and I decided to reflect on these themes by featuring music of composers who were friends—Arnold Schoenberg and George Gershwin; and Mieczysław Weinberg and Dmitri Shostakovich.

I am so excited to sing this truly glorious and moving soprano solo along with my dear friend Barbara Pickhardt and her wonderful choral group Ars Choralis in Woodstock, NY. We perform at the historic Maverick Concert Hall.
Notes from the group: Ars Choralis presents Brahms’ masterful Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) presented with Brahms’ arrangement for piano four hands. After major performances with orchestra of this work which had already captured the hearts of listeners and critics alike, the composer reverted to his original concept of the piece, written for piano-four hands in 1866, to perform his masterpiece in London in 1871. This version is not a simple reduction of the full score but a fresh, pianistic reworking of the entire piece which creates a new and unique listening experience.

I am so looking forward to supporting the fundraising efforts of poet Richard Blanco and my dear friend, poet Spencer Reece as well as Reverend Jacob Smith and Calvary-St. George in New York City. They are fundraising for a library at the Anglican Center in Santiago, Spain. The Anglican Center is a place where ordained women can celebrate at the altar having just finished their camino. This center and library are extremely important additions to Santiago because the majority of the centers where pilgrims arrive upon finishing the camino are Catholic. As such, ordained women are not recognized or allowed to celebrate at the altar. The Anglican Center and the library within it will give women a place to properly mark the conclusion of their camino.
The library will be named in honor of the first girl's orphanage ever to exist in Honduras, named Our Little Roses (https://www.ourlittleroses.org). Having a library in honor of the girls continues the theme of empowering women in the church.
I will be singing two newly commissioned art songs which set poems by one of the girls from Our Little Roses. Her name is Aylin. These songs setting Aylin’s poetry are by the wonderful composer Laura Jobin-Acosta who also gave of her time to support the fundraiser.
Please come support this important event!

Pianist Jason Wirth and I travel to Iowa to give a recital for the Iowa Federation of Music Clubs during their 2022 Conference (an event postponed from 2020). It means the world to me to return to my home state which I represented as the winner of the National Federation of Music Club’s Biennial competition in Voice in 2019. From the ages of 6 to 17, I participated in NFMC competitions as a pianist under the tutelage of my beloved piano teacher and friend, Marilyn Mitchem, of Bettendorf, Iowa. It will truly be a thrill to go home to sing and to see Marilyn and the IFMC community. Come here songs by Rodrigo, Strauss, and Weill, as well as a new and gorgeous song by Nathan Shields!

Join us for an evening exploring the alchemy of words and music.Thomas and the CMQC commissioned new art songs from seven contemporary composers and all of these new songs feature poetry chosen from . All of the poetry chosen for the songs is also commissioned, as the CMQC called for submissions of works by Iowan poets. The concert is a celebration of Iowa, its great poets, and of the composers who wrote these beautiful new art songs.
